Purpose and goal

Within the project structures and incentives to encourage collaboration between researchers and public companies has been established. It is a collaboration strategy, collaboration platforms, and a new position as research innovation advisor. The advisor has created model of how to support reserachers in applying for funding, HKR Focus Forum. The ToY innovation model, integrating students into employment and inspiring to entrepreneurship, has been further developed. A business model launching ToY has been developed.

Expected results and effects

External reserch funding applications has increased from 49, 2013 to 98, 2016. Received funding has increased from 7,5 MSEK 2014 to 13,1 MSEK 2016. The long term effect of the innovation support structure clearly is that more researchers apply for more funding and their applications are of higher quality which in due time increases the research volume at Kristianstad University. Establishment of a business model launching ToY projects has created a greater interest and urge to use innovation projects for growth by local and regional companies both in public and private sector.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been carried out as a part of the longterm strategy to establish, anchor and further develop the innovation arena mutually created by Kristianstad university and Krinova. It is an innovation arena with the public mission of creating growth and increase the power of attraction of north eastern Skåne thru local, national and international activities. Since the project was framed within the established innovation strategy, activities were easily implemented in the community of researchers, students and private companies and hereby results and effects were guaranteed.
