Important results from the project

The project´s purpose has been to demonstrate the benefits and opportunities through "autonomous transport". The aim has been to showcase what a vehicle with its current technology can do today with focus on the logistic sequences. This in turn has generated interest from logistics organizations. The projects that were run by service providers also delivered material around the infrastructural and legal issues that affect the transport of vehicles within a fenced area.

Expected long term effects

- A technical concept / demonstration which included a transport scenario where the car moved itself using a traffic management system from A to B and then back to A. - Produced a number of articles in newspapers as well as papers / PM - Received interest from logistics organizations by demonstrating the potential and potential of solutions where the vehicle can transport itself. There has also been great interest from other parties, and many have realized the value of a smart and flexible transportation industry.

Approach and implementation

The project was divided into 8 different work packages (WP), starting with WP1, which delivered the requirements and the background, then WP2 took over and implemented the implementation of traffic management systems and car together with WP3,4 and 5. This meant that you could get a good foundation and anchor this against commercial requirements. In parallel there were four work packages that were related to issues related to the legal, infrastructure (WP6), cooperation issues (WP7) and overall project management (WP8). This resulted in a number of demonstrations and reports.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
