Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to test digital solutions in a reality lab with the aim of creating a better working environment for the nurses and to increase the participation and independence of the users. Nurses´ working environment has been improved by, for example, the introduction of digital signatures of health care interventions and indirectly by the prevention of cases of malnutrition and the increased fitness of the users. User participation and independence have increased through, for example, a 5G reminder clock.
Expected long term effects
The work has increased the awareness and knowledge within the organization concerning possibilities and limitations of welfare technology. The organization is now requesting innovative solutions and has increased its ordering skills. The nurses have appreciated the impact of digitalization on their work environment and the effect can be expected to be that they choose to remain in the organisation. Users´ quality of life is expected to be improved through increased participation and independence.
Approach and implementation
Our program of shadowing, interviews, surveys and workshops with staff and business proved to be a great way to match the needs of the business with available solutions in the market. The iterative approach promoted identification and selection of the right needs and solutions. Several sub-projects were started on an ongoing basis and less adequate projects were completed and replaced by new ones.
