Biomethane web-platform to promote biomethane usage as vehicle fuel.

Purpose and goal

The feasibility study identified the strengths, weaknesses, risks, opportunities and resources needed for creating the first Biomethane Web Platform in Sweden, and acts as basis for future decision making in regards to developing this Platform.

Expected results and effects

The Biomethane Web Platform will lead to a new business model for local biomethane producers, through new sales and distribution channel. This will also create greater convenience for biomethane end-users who will find biomethane to be more accessible. As a result, an increase in the use of locally produced biomethane as vehicle fuel is expected. In turn, this will increase the local biomethane production and decrease the amount of GHG emissions for the benefit of the environment.

Planned approach and implementation

Initial wireframes of the biomethane web platform and the user interface were updated. A simple prototype of the user interface was created; the prototype includes a few selected functions. At this stage, the prototype was made only for one user, or one upgrading unit. The application handling many users will be developed in the next phase. Additionally, an initial design development for the web platform has been done.
