Purpose and goal

Since 2017 we have been working with young adults in problematic situations. Our young adults have had great success in becoming free from drugs, completing school and joining our health boosting activities. There’s a need to expand this to children that are on a problematic path too. Through this project we will be able to develop ways to work with both children as well as young adults, by doing adjustments in how to work together and what activities to offer. This project will give a method that is possible to scale up to more communities around Sweden, to successfully work with young persons.

Expected results and effects

The overall objective for this project in a tested, developed and documented method. The milestones during our project are, working through the design-thinking method: - gathering information from target group - defining problem areas - content through idea generation - implementation and testing pilot - improvement, change and iteration of the process above - documentation and guidance material The long-term objective is to implement this method to the eight regions were Hej främling! is established, hopefully also to new regions within Sweden and also internationally.

Planned approach and implementation

The project’s progress in managed by the project manager. Dialogue with the target group are carried out through our community builders. We have access to experts in areas relevant to our project. We cooperate with public and private sector as well as NGOs, for example schools, municipality, the sport movement, the Police, Narcotics Anonymous and many more. All activities are carried out through an ‘initiative taker’. Equality is an important ground in our organization, and it is an integrated part of all our activities.
