Purpose and goal
The overall aim of the project is to develop a method for fast and cheap bedside measurement of antibiotics in blood. The first aim of this study is to adapt our current method of processing plasma from patient blood to clinical use. The second aim of the study is to develop the current absorption spectroscopy device into a clinical prototype. Finally we are going to perform a clinical study on the feasibility and the precision of the clinical prototype absorption spectroscopy.
Expected results and effects
A SOP and kit for blood samples as well as a clinical absorption spectroscopy prototype for bedside measurement of blood antibiotic concentrations will be available on completion.
Planned approach and implementation
A SOP and kit for blood samples as well as a clinical absorption spectroscopy prototype will be developed toghter with health care staff, researchers and the biotech firm Pharmacolog AB.
