Project duration December 2014 - August 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The overall objective in the field of industrial robotics is to develop products, solutions, concepts , applications to increase the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry , More specific small and medium-sized enterprises . In this project we focused on how to streamline prefab production of homes , and more specifically how to robotize the assebly of energy studs. The goal of the project was to develop a concept that proved that this was possible , this in the form of mapping the process, simulation and development of the most complex tool.

Results and expected effects

Process mapping , simulation of system , a physical tool tested in the robot cell. Grönbo will now proceed to construct the system from order to assembly diagram for the robotic system for increased customization. In the long term Grönbo is expected to invest in this robotics solution, thereby increasing their competitiveness. This concept is expected to be applied in other SMEs , which has the same needs. Moreover, we see that the robot control of this operation in the wooden house production , has a very positive impact on the work environment, where eg heavy lifting is eliminated.

Approach and implementation

Process Description , divided into sub-projects , selection of critical technical part , design of the same , including simulation . Together with Grönbo the process description ,mapping the existing manual process and requirement for future needs was done. Then followed a visual description through a simulation of the system , in parallel with this, an examination of the robotic tool that was needed. The most complex tool was designed, manufactured and tested in a physical robot cell for assembly of the energy stud.
