Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** An identified need for more accurate positioning systems led to a new idea that could revolutionize the logistics and transportation industry. The goal of this project has been to develop the materials and components required to position an object with millimeter accuracy in 3 dimensions, as well as integrate the solution with WIP´s iLog application in a POC for automatic tracking of goods adapted to the needs of the industry. In this respect, the project has been successful.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** WIP today delivers an iLog application that manages the logistics flow from order to delivery. The project resulted in a POC consisting of unique materials and components that together form a tracking system that automatically identifies a package´s position in 3D in a transport depot and can be integrated with WIP´s iLog. Thereby, they have come one step closer to establishing themselves on the Swedish market through Schenker. There is also potential to reach other markets via Schenker and via other transport and distribution companies.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Due to the global supply challenges of the last few years, during the project we (like most others) suffered delays in components needed to verify the technology with a high enough accuracy. Meanwhile, the project has been working on finding ways around the problems, for example by running more simulations and further developing the algorithm as far as possible. Despite this, they have succeeded in carrying out the tests and analyzes that were needed.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
