Purpose and goal

The goals were to increase scientific and pedagogical qualifications, increase experience in supervision and enlarge my network of contacts. The purpose is to strengthen my possibilities to take on in the future leading roles in research activities. VINNMER has given me increased publication and increased experience in pedagogical activities (including course development, teaching and research supervision). I have expanded my network, above all within universities, and obtained increased experience from project management, via courses and by working as a project leader.

Results and expected effects

I have become more qualified within my research field, pedagogical activities, supervision and I have expanded my network. The project has also resulted in 2 master theses and 2 student projects that have led to 2 published conference papers (together with the students). Moreover, I have found a new application area for my methods. One effect is that I have become an independent expert at REA for evaluating project proposals to Horizon 2020. Other expected effects will be to establish myself as a researcher within the new application area and to apply for new projects together with LiU.

Approach and implementation

The 3 years have had a similar disposition of activities. Each year has consisted of activities such as publication, teaching, supervision, project activities, courses and visits in different environments (first of all at LiU). The disposition has worked very well and the activities have been carried out. On the way new opportunities have arisen, for example to work as an independent expert at REA in Brussels and to be an invited speaker to a conference. To have been resided at LiU has been very positive. It has given me great inspiration in my work which has led to new ideas and new contacts.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
