Purpose and goal
The project aimed at increasing the attractiveness of metallic materials through three activities. The production of three couture dresses in steel reached attention far beyond Sweden´s borders and created great interest among many groups in Sweden. The musical pavilion Jussi showed Swedish metal and craftsmanship and pointed out platers as important and skilled professionals. A documentary about metallic materials is complete, but has not yet been premiered. The project also included discussion meetings for project planning for an announcement. Two such have been carried out.
Expected results and effects
The steel dresses and pavilions have further strengthened the image of metal as an area of creativity and future opportunities, and conveyed it to new groups, which we expect will lead to increased interest from young people in the industry and from decision makers to support industry development. The documentary film is expected to deepen and reinforce the image that new materials are of major importance to societal development, which is expected to further enhance the above effects.
Planned approach and implementation
The activities inthe project have been carried out as four separate entities, each led by an external expert, a concept which has worked well. Clear agreements and expectations and close communication with the program office have been keys to the good result.
