Purpose and goal

Future vehicles will have multiple active safety features and will issue warnings when safety margins are exceeded, prompting the driver to take action. Thus, the overall safety performance very much depends on the effectiveness of the interface (HMI) between the safety system and the driver. This project is about to design warnings in order to be effective and with high acceptance. Timing of warnings as well as their modality and strength are important factors. System design will be done by using Saab driving simulator and test and evaluation will be done in field tests.
