Venture Challenge-Driven Innovation – Stage 1 initiation

Purpose and goal

SABO, HBV and Sustainable Innovation has created a strong constellation and worked out problems around which solutions needs to be developed, demonstrated and commercialized through a renovation, procurement strategy for the million program with the objective to allow the renovation of the entire property portfolio. The project focuses on property owners long-term renovation objectives together with the tenant´s will and ability ability to pay the additional costs.

Results and expected effects

Through the project monitoring, workshops and interviews the project team has recognized the needs and opportunities in a global market and created a broad constellation, including relevant business partners around the renovation of the million programme. The project team has through workshops and interviews charted the needs of stakeholders, identified and analyzed solutions for priority renovation areas and established a plan for how new solutions and business proposals are to be developed, demonstrated, procured and utilized.

Approach and implementation

Steering and project group has consisted of representatives from SABO, HBV and Sustainable Innovation that has created a broad constellation consisting of 32 housing companies, researchers, suppliers, contractors and service companies. Through intelligence two workshops has gathered CEOs and CTOs from SABO and HBVs Boards and member companies and efforts have resulted in the creation of a plan for the development, demonstration and utilization by the project´s subsequent stages 2 and 3.
