Purpose and goal

The service can provide more housing for students, better economy for both students and many elderly (especially women), as well as more meetings across generations and increased use of existing housing. This can in turn contribute to a better quality of life and health and increased attractiveness and availability of student cities.

Expected results and effects

We have - Established a strong partner group representing seniors, students and real estate companies. - Implemented numerous communication activities. - Had dialogue and drawn lessons from similar initiatives from other countries. - Conducted workshops where the future users, co-created the future services. - Conducted protoyping with service designers of the key aspects of the service. - Developed business model for establishment and geographic scaling. The work has focused on Stockholm and Linköping where the service is planned to be established in a first step.

Planned approach and implementation

Most of the work has been carried out with user-centered design methods to ensure that the service is designed in a way that meets the real needs and reality of future users. Insights from the workshops and prototyping have been the basis for service design as well as the business model and organizational structure. Business model and organizational setting aims to ensure that users of the service are the focus of value creation. Similarly, the organization is designed to achieve strong local presence and capitalize on shared knowledge and common benefits created.
