Purpose and goal

The overall objective in the prestudy was to develop a methodology aiming for agil strategy work in established small and medium sized companies. The most prominent indicators of this objective was a) the designing of a research plan and development of research questions. And b) a fruitful analyses of needs and development opportunities in the participating companies.

Results and expected effects

As visualized in the application for full funding, the objective of developing a research plan and research questions is achieved in the prestudy. The analyses of needs and development opportunities in the participating companies were also succesful and the issue of how to organize strategy work is established on the Company agendas. The planned activities (see below) were carried through as planned in two of the companies. In two companies only step 1-2,5 were realized.

Approach and implementation

The prestudy was organized in five steps. 1. MAPPING in companies. The Project team interview 2-4 managers in each Company. 2. WORKSHOPS in order to outline the present situation and development objectives. Project team and 3-5 managers per Company. 3. INTERNAL DEVELOPMENT WORK in each Company. Involving 6-10 managers in each Company. Coaching visits. 4. METHODOLOGY DEVELOPMENT. Literature Review and workshops. 5. TEST WORKSHOP. Evaluation of activities and plans for the future.
