Digital services should strengthen trust between citizens and the public sector

The projects receive funding in an effort at civic tech, which is about developing new services that strengthen the trust between citizens and the public sector with the help of digital technology, citizen engagement and open administration.

"It's about using citizens' confidence to a greater extent as a driving force for renewal, while at the same time allowing the public to include new actors in service development," says Adrian Solitander, responsible for Vinnova's effort at civic tech.

The following project receives funding with a total of SEK 12 million:

Digital tools for participatory placemaking

Will develop a service to facilitate the cooperation process between citizens and the public sector in the development of unused urban environments, so-called placemaking.

ClimateVisualizer - an interactive cloud service that shows the way to the climate goals

The project will use climate statistics, new research, design and technology to provide citizens with in-depth knowledge of the climate change adaptation.

Digital dialogue plan platform

To develop a digital service that makes it easier for citizens to give views on planning processes and to make it easier for authorities to manage views, to increase democracy and reduce bureaucracy in social planning.

The project is about a digital service where citizens, schools, municipalities and companies can contribute to increased sense of security by creating local security areas for each other. The venture begins in Hökarängen in Stockholm.

Digiphysical care contacts increase the security of people in special housing

The project will create, test and evaluate a digital healthcare service for physician contacts in special housing, in order to create security for residents and relatives.

Open procurement

The project will provide a platform prototype to make public procurement easier and more efficient, as well as improve public services, which in the long term can help increase confidence in the state.

Civic tech platform supports actors who strengthen democracy in Christianity

In addition to these project, Vinnova has also decided to fund a coordination effort in the civil tech ecosystem, Civic Tech Platform. It will, among other things, carry out civic tech labs at national, regional and local levels that serve as meeting places with an opportunity for knowledge exchange, business development and matchmaking with public actors focusing on digital citizen engagement and open administration.
