Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project´s aims were to investigate methods and models to increase health literacy and vaccination willingness among the elderly migrants and their relatives. Furthermore, the project aimed to build a two-way communication path to these groups. To produce training materials and training methods for home care staff to develop them in a role as health communicators. To collect actual data among 1500 migrants who were either part of the particularly vulnerable individuals ( the elderly in need of personal care at home ) or were in contact with them.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project shows that interventions that are made need to take place in dialogue with the target groups and that training efforts for well-established people in the target groups make a big difference. The project also shows that it is possible to collect data in the target groups that provide information on how interventions should be planned to succeed. The project´s model of spillover effects also shows that with relatively limited educational efforts you can reach many individuals and also how you can reach particularly vulnerable groups.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The original plan, which was also largely carried out, began with the project contacting and meeting about 10 ethnically specialized home care companies to discuss how a plan could be made that fit into their activities. A battery of questions was developed which was translated into 7 different languages. To study the effects of interventions, a person from World Values Survey followed Borlänge municipality´s work to raise the vaccination rate. About 10 semi-structured in-depth interviews among those who planned and carried out the efforts.
