Call Innovations for increased equality - preparation projects

Purpose and goal

The project addressed people´s different access to physical activity and a meaningful existence, which affects their health and well-being, and creates preconditions for a sustainable society. Sport Open has developed a collaborative model in which actors from the sports movement, academia, the public sector and the business community works together on various social challenges. The project collected 44 ideas on how sport can become more equal, and developed three pilots based on identified needs, needs owners and end users. These pilots will be verified in the next step.

Expected results and effects

Three pilots have been developed with the aim to verify them in the next step. In addition, a partnership for a proposal for an Innovation project has been created. Meetings between actors from different sectors have generated further synergies beyond the project´s objective (i.e. new collaborations and exchange of knowledge) that have effects beyond the Innovation Project. By creating an infrastructure for open innovation, Sport Open can find new ways to more inclusive and sustainable sport and thus contribute to more people´s increased health and sense of meaningfulness.

Planned approach and implementation

Through the reference group´s network and Sport Opens´s established communication channels, information about the project was widely disseminated in Skåne. The work was complemented by a campaign with the aim of engaging with the project´s social challenge and collecting ideas. By inviting various meetings between several sectors, an understanding of the need to develop a common collaborative model has been confirmed. Needs owners and end users have been involved in a number of different steps, which have benefited both the development of the ideas and the collaborative model.
