Important results from the project
Our project achieved its goals by providing insights into user behavior, motivations, and barriers in Göteborg and Malmö. The findings highlight that shared micromobility and public transport complement each other, that combined travel increases the reliability of the transport system for its users, but also that there are challenges concerning gender equality and equity in access to combination trips today.
Expected long term effects
By providing insights into how different groups of users percieve and use combination trips today, the project and its findings provide a basis for a more sustainable integration of services tomorrow. It fosters collaboration between public and private stakeholders, generating insights to inform future policies that can impact the uptake and usage of both micromobility and public transport modes - and potentially replace private car trips.
Approach and implementation
The project included a literature review, qualitative and quantitative studies on user behavior and decision-making. These activities aimed to understand the use and integration of shared micromobility with public transport, understanding user choices and developing a basis for strategic improvements based on comprehensive research and multi-stakeholder collaboration within the project.
