Savaq Brasil, innovative irrigation technique, highly redused water concumption in plantations

Reference number
Coordinator TERRIGIO AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 67 748
Project duration November 2012 - July 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to build a consortium for market entry in Brazil. Although a primary survey of production partners, and sales partner would be given priority. Academic contacts should be developed for future product development and implementation of local test series. The project has unfortunately been held back by lack of required basic founding for the company. The project has however reached some interesting developed contacts through our distributor in Madrid. Here we have sought to achieve a partial funding for the Brazil project. Market survey initiated.

Results and expected effects

Using the contacts we have developed via our Spanish-Portuguese network, we now have a quick way to a feasible project and a strategy to implement a continuation with a consortium-based approach as soon as the company has covered the basic funding. There are pre-designed routes to enter into cooperation agreements through our Madrid based distributor. Alternatively we may continue with direct links to selected Brazilian operations. Academic paths can easily be opened through our Swedish partner.

Approach and implementation

The basic set-up with direct cooperation Sweden-Brazil remains a continuing option, but the new contact channels we received via Madrid can give us a faster market access. Our partner Swedish University of Agriculture has continued good contacts for development of cooperation in place in Sao Paolo. Production options have not yet been processed. After basic company funding, the project may start up again, and we will then revert to Vinnova with a status update.
