Important results from the project

The Vinnväxt initiative has had a significant impact on the region´s bioeconomy as well as circular economy innovation system. It has positioned Paper Province as an attractive innovation environment both nationally and internationally. As a result, Paper Province has created a foundation for long-term sustainability, the ability to scale up invested resources, and the capacity to attract financing, companies, innovators, collaborations, and investments.

Expected long term effects

The transformed, through the Vinnväxt initiative, regional innovation system is expected to have positive effects on industry transition and transformation. The ability to attract funding, companies, innovations, investments etc has been significantly strengthened. Combined with an elevated position nationally and internationally, this impacts the development of the regional innovation system and enables new value-creating initiatives for the industry´s internationalisation and competitiveness.

Approach and implementation

The region´s ability to demonstrate the bioeconomy has been a constant throughout. Competence, capacity and infrastructure have been built with a focus on establishing an internationally prominent bioeconomy region, where the forest-based bioeconomy can be developed, tested and realised. Many steps have contributed towards strengthening the ecosystem’s capabilities and capacity to support the development of the bioeconomy as well as the development and transformation of companies.
