Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project has on the large scale been to make information on companies´ and organizations´ sustainability work more accessible, in contrast to how it is today - disseminated and incomparable. The goals for this project have been reached and thereby we have: Created a database that enables gathering of sustainability data from different sources. We have started collaborations with other organizations in order to encourage more data owners to share their data to the database. Lastly, an API has been developed, where the data now can be accessed by third party developers.

Results and expected effects

We already see clear results and effects, even though the effects are expected to be greater in the longer run. Through the development of the database, as well as collaborations with other organizations, sustainability data has been gathered and is searchable and accessible to third party developers. Through the collaboration with CSR Västsverige we already see effects in the sharing of best practices and benchmarking within a whole region. The recently finalized API is expected to lead to coming third party developments and then greater accessibility of the data on a longer term.

Approach and implementation

One of the challenges with sustainability data today is that it is very disseminated with each respective actor, and that it is hard to compare when each actor report in their own way. Many organizations has come far in reporting data, while many still has a long way to go in making the data accessible, since it has not yet been mapped internally. Open Responsibility enables organizations to both map their data, and share it for open access. For many of those that have connected to the project, they will first need to map their information, so as to further on allow the open access for it.
