Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The overall goal of this collaborative project consisting of four collaborators from two countries in six work packages has been the development of a new platform for collecting and sharing biobank data: SmartBIMS. SmartBIMS with its modules provides interoperability capabilities and data analysis capabilities, as well as the new experimental data integration service for biobanking researchers.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Slutprodukten SmartBIMS consists of components from different work packages and consists of a web-based platform whose services can be marketed as a whole, alternatively as individual parts (eg "SNOMED-CT-kitet”" Big Data Core” and the apps for experimental and clinical data collection "Bam" and "MedRed"). Two biobanks are in the pipeline to, via the Spanish project partner NorayBio, test SmartBIMS after the end of the project.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Despite the somewhat scattered nature of the project consisting of four partners from two countries in six work packages (and whose time also occurred during the entire Covid-19 pandemic), the governing project party Ibermatica in WP1 managed to keep the project together very well. It was also a great advantage that all parties already had experience in, and competence in, leading and participating in R&D project and international collaborations.
