Important results from the project

The project´s aim has been to develop a Proof of Concept system for wireless monitoring and logging of data from test vehicles. The project has had the following objective: -To specify and develop a hardware platform for the system -To develop software for the system -This system will be able to handle large amounts of data -To install the system in test vehicles for test and evaluation -I identify the types of data that can be logged in test vehicles -Wirelessly connect the Proof of Concept system to a cloud server All objective have been met in the project.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in a new type of system that can efficiently log data in vehicles that are then uploaded to a cloud server. Although the focus of the project has been on the system mounted in the test vehicle and how it should be connected to the cloud server, an important results is what we have learned about how the whole process can be streamlined. from creating data in a vehicle to reaching the right user. We see a great interest in these types of solutions with the participating companies and also other companies, so there are good conditions to develop this solution further.

Approach and implementation

At the start the intended system´s requirements and performance were specified. A generation for "bench testing" was built and evaluated and then the systems for installation in the test vehicles were built. Regular project meetings with all parties ensured that we could iterate the development in several steps. Nevertheless, as always, there were late changes. Some things are also not seen until you start testing in real vehicles. So overall, it has been an interesting project with many lessons learned and we have achieved quite large results in a relatively short time.
