Purpose and goal

The goal to align all stakeholders within Microwave and Antenna systems has been fulfilled in the sense that there is now a common view on the aggregated strengths, prioritized future areas as well as important areas for improvement.

Results and expected effects

Prioritized areas for improvement: Cooperation Microwave and antenna systems are characterized by a strong research sector and a few, large prosperous companies. SMEs run the risk of being marginalized. New applications The technology area contributes to make Swedish telecom and defense industry successful. However promising applications in other areas are left unexplored. Competence and innovation capability The overall diversity in terms of age and gender is significantly unbalanced. Actions are needed in order to increase employee mobility and attract new talents.

Approach and implementation

All prioritized improvement areas require a common platform that doesn´t exist today.VinnExcellence Centras such as GHz-Centre and Chase are excellent platforms for continued technology cooperation, but don´t address more structural issues. Therefore, a continuation of the project is being prepared in order to arrive at a point where more sustainable change is enabled.
