Important results from the project

Identify challenges in existing valuation methods, such as over-optimism and a lack of connection to investor priorities, and that valuing early innovation companies is a challenge. Another results was the development of the methodological framework ATLAS-S, which integrates business development and valuation through a structured, transparent and iterative process. The model addresses the shortcomings of existing valuation methods by combining quantitative rigor with qualitative understanding.

Expected long term effects

A more targeted and results-oriented incubation through ATLAS-S-modellen, where progress can be tracked, measured and evaluated in actual value creation. By focusing on strengthening the startup´s weakest categories, the model can build value faster. The integrated view can help ensure that processes lead to investability and market relevance, rather than just internal progression. This in turn helps ensure that public resources lead to actual innovation and growth power.

Approach and implementation

Conducted as a feasibility study, with the aim of evaluating how value-driven incubation can be implemented, what methods are used to assess startups, how these support investment maturity. Interviews with representatives from incubators, e.g. Bizmaker, Chalmers Ventures and Uminova, were the basis for collecting information about success factors and challenges. The sample included 40% female interviewees. Result led to an analysis of existing methods and presentation of the ATLAS-S framework
