Important results from the project
The project had two aims: to adequately present individualized follow-up recommendations for each survivors´ treatment history, and to identify novel risk groups among survivors using AI. The aims have led the project to generate 2 scientific publications, one startup and further funding. The goal of the project was to act for prevention to limit suffering and costs to society. The project and health care have enriched each other with new information.
Expected long term effects
The expected goals for the project was that it, through the aims, would reduce human suffering and limit costs for society. The project and health care have enriched each other with new information through the channels of scientific publications and founding of a startup company.
Approach and implementation
The 4 partners were adequate for the project and the 4 work packages fit the objectives well. A delay in time occurred for work packages analysis and validation (late delivery of data and the pandemic). Ehealth aspects and experiences among childhood cancer survivors were investigated in the mean time. Technical exchange among partners was approached. Factors of success included long term planning, engagement and participation of domain experts, leadership and communication, as well as flexibility among partners and funding sources.
