Important results from the project
Sweden needs to develop its research & innovation system and at the same time drive the development of education at all levels to meet the eligibility requirements as manufacturing companies have to keep / place their production in Sweden. An important prerequisite is access to world-class production expertise! Our objective is therefore to run a national research school in the Production area to provide the conditions for high-quality education & networking for master-, (industrial) doctoral students and other industrial employees with connection to the production area.
Expected long term effects
The Graduate School has continuously contributed to mobility between academia, institutes and industry through the participation of mentioned parties, created incentives for collaboration on innovation projects, and provided access to a digital platform for courses that provides increased access to the Production Competence nationally. Examined course credits are 5020 hec within Production2030´s areas of strength, as well as within general research support areas. 254 doctoral students are enrolled, 57 from industry; 41 courses have been given this project round.
Approach and implementation
A reference group with 17 representatives from the Production Academy´s higher education institutions is convened twice a year to inventory existing & planned courses and review education needs. Information is communicated via the research school´s website, as well as via Kunskapsförmedlingen; an information letter is sent four times per year to registered members. Course management and communication with course providers work well and the course program on the website is updated every week.
