Generate weather at AstaZero

Purpose and goal
In order to further develop AstaZero´s ability to assist in the development of vehicles and sensors in active safety and self-driven vehicles, this project will look at how weather affects sensor systems on vehicles. A proposal will be developped about how to create a variety of weather environments in a repetitive and controllable way to support the development of different sensors on AstaZero.
Expected results and effects
The project aims at increase AstaZero´s skills regarding weather impacts on vehicle sensors. A number of reference weather will be defined with the automotive industry. These reference weather should be recreated in a temporary environment to provide basis for a specification for permanent weather generation at AstaZero. This specification shall include dimensions on the test environment, power requirements, water requirements, etc. Possible restrictions in eg. humidity, temperature and wind speed should also be documented.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is divided into four work packages: 1) State-of-the-Art - literature studies on how sensors are influenced by different weather phenomena 2) Definition of reference weather 3) How to generate different reference weather on the test track? (including testing) 4) Requirements specification for weather generation
