Purpose and goal

FAKTA´s overall objective was to support the design and control of high-performing automated material handling systems with a high level of flexibility. The ambition was also to contribute to a resource-efficient, sustainable and competitive production.

Expected results and effects

Through its research studies and its development work in the companies, the project has reached its objectives. The results that have been generated in the project have been communicated on an ongoing basis among the project parties, and they have also been compiled and communicated at conferences and in written publications. The project has also generated a compilation of design guidelines that provides concrete support for the design of automated material handling systems.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been carried out as a close collaboration between a total of eleven parties. Digital project meetings have been held every month for reporting and coordination of project activities. In addition, the project group has had physical meetings at different project parties in order to delve into current issues. Research studies have been carried out during the project - predominantly in the form of case studies at the project´s companies. In total, the project has contributed to fifteen research articles with a focus on automation application in material handling processes.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
