Reference number
Coordinator Arccore AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 963 411
Project duration April 2014 - June 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The main research topics for Arccore within the EMC2 project are: - Usage of Hypervisors to allow both multicore processing, mixed criticality and multiple OS support. - Autosar OS and Stack supporting mixed criticality in a multicore system

Expected results and effects

The EMC2 project has laid the foundation of the Arccore Multicore and Automotive Safety offering. Arccore has also gained knowledge of hypervisor usage within automotive applications. Concepts and software processes to achieve Functional Safety according to ISO26262 on multi-core processors has been researched. Arccore has proposed means of communicating between cores, and how to partition the platform software (BSW), OS, and Runtime Environment (RTE) between cores. Demonstrators shown: - Arctic Core started by Xen Hypervisor - Multi-core Arctic Core and Core Com

Planned approach and implementation

Arccore is part of the EMC2 Living Lab for Automotive Applications -´Next Generation Electronic Architecture for Commercial Vehicles.´ The Arccore project focus has been on researching and developing AUTOSAR solutions for Automotive Safety, Mixed Criticality support and Multicore support. As part of the demonstrator sub-task a focus has also been on developing working demonstrators.
