Important results from the project
The project has had two main goals, on the one hand to deliver a prototype DFHM to CERN and at the same time to develop RFR Solutions´s skills in vacuum-cryo technology and validation of various steel materials in leak detection, tolerance control, etc. Both goals have been achieved where CERN is satisfied and RFR Solutions today has several established contacts and business in both research and the private sector in the area.
Expected long term effects
The test and validation of the delivery will take place at CERN during 2024/2025. Regarding the competence and business development that RFR Solutions has focused on, we already have a positive outcome today with established collaborations with new customers and also suppliers. This has resulted in new business and a strengthened brand. We are also active in spreading the opportunities around Big Science to other Swedish companies.
Approach and implementation
The design basis was developed by CERN and RFR Solutions has carried out a producability analysis and improvement proposals around this in collaboration with both CERN and Uppsala Universitet. Based on this, preparation, production and validation have been carried out in a very positive way. The project is delayed at CERN, but no direct consequences for RFR Solutions AB.
