Important results from the project
The project aimed to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the peak power needs of existing properties by applying IoT hardware and software to existing property systems. This has been shown in the project to work satisfactorily, in line with the established theoretical reasoning that formed the basis of the project.
Expected long term effects
The project has achieved a high goal fulfillment and shown that previously theoretical reasoning is applicable in existing property installations. The building has, by connecting IoT hardware and connecting it and then applying remote control, reduced the power requirements by about 30-40%. It should also be pointed out that the IoT solution that has been installed can also be further developed for more applied machine learning, which will mean a further approx. 10-15% reduced peak power requirement.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out according to plan and the implementation has been carried out in the manner initially envisaged. Through the continuous collection of energy and power data from multiple production and consumption units, a good foundation has been laid for the continued development of applicable IoT solutions on existing property systems. Through the concrete power demand reduction, it has also been shown that a change towards properties with reduced power demand, and thus less CO2 emissions, is something that can be achieved, with minimal costs per property.
