Purpose and goal

The project´s overall aim and objective has been to explore and promote data-driven innovation and data-centering of policy in the digitalization of Swedish social services. By working close to central functions within two separate social administrations, and following how new data-driven systems are implemented, the project has been able to identify and formalize important insights and new principles regarding innovation in welfare services.

Expected results and effects

Issues relating to user centering and problem formulation within the framework of innovation management has had a central role through out the project. Important insights have been gained on how commercially oriented logics can complicate the implementation of data-driven systems and innovations in social services. The project has also, through dialogue with other actors in the public sector and academia, been able to spread the results nationally and internationally.

Planned approach and implementation

More time than expected was spent in the project to anchor processes in management and interest groups and to map internal and external processes. However, this led to important insights about organization and, not least, how users are involved and represented in innovation and development processes. has caused certain obstacles to the project which have been maneuvered over time.
