Important results from the project

The mission has been to establish the Swedish Canadian Innovation Initiative (SCII), creating a platform for building long-term relationships that can enable collaborations, both in Canada and in Sweden. Through Innovation Diplomacy this project aims to increase collaboration and co-creation projects between Canada and Sweden. SCII was launched during the Innovation Days taking place in Montreal 19-21st November during which 148 participants met to discuss collaboration opportunities, one example being the EUREKA financing opportunity for joint projects.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Increased collaboration between Swedish and Canadian actors with a triple helix perspective. Expected effects are a number of EUREKA applications and that a number of actors will continue the discussions initiated during Innovation days in Montreal and that this will create the conditions for new collaborations in the forestry and mining industry in particular.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Above all, the project has been driven by the group called Executive Innovation Team (EIT) where participants from Vinnova, Business Sweden, the Swedish Embassy, Saab, ABB; Epiroc and Ericsson regularly held meetings to both set the vision for the long-term initiative and plan Innovation Days. In order to drive this forward in a successful manner, the industry participants have been tasked with securing commitment of their respective Swedish organizations. Possible new participants in the EIT could be RISE who participated under Innovation Days.
