Important results from the project
The project has given us the ability to test, analyze and develop new methods and practices in the established urban development processes. Through several activities and pilot studies, we challenged our thinking and developed our knowledge of what new ways art, culture and creative skills can operate and play a role in urban development. Our strategy ´Open Art´ has been activated, developed and operationalized. The project has provided a basis and experiences for further work, and readiness opportunities for new approaches and methods to gain a foothold on the strategic level.
Expected long term effects
By doing, reflecting and gather experiences of tests on a small scale (see appendix 1) has laid a foundation for the implementation of new approaches at the strategic level. Since a broad spectrum of employees have participated and been affected by the project, and thus experienced its effect, we also see spillover effects in other areas of the municipality, such as in health care and schools, where the interest to try new approaches has been activated. The project has attracted international interest from eg England, Bulgaria, Holland, Ireland. A joint application has been initiated.
Approach and implementation
We work based on the principles for driving development in complexity. The project has consisted of a number of pilot studies, in which we in a small scale have tested new approaches and then systematically been reflecting to create learning. We have also worked on the assumption that free will and voluntary participation is the key to success. The work for change must start from within and be carried out by employees inside the organization. The analysis is that this has been successful concepts to enabled a smooth change of perspectives and prepare ground for sustainable development.
