Purpose and goal

Based on the specific case of self-driving buses this pre-study focused on the frequently used term "for all", as in e.g. "accessible for all". It aimed to produce data that can contribute to make mobility solutions with shuttles being useful "for all", and thus be applied in a larger context. Over 40 existing autonomous shuttle projects have been analyzed and mapped to "for all" aspects. The results were discussed in a workshop with municipalities. Suggested aspects to consider for "for all" have been identified. The goal is considered to be fulfilled.

Expected results and effects

Prestudy results can contribute to the design of guidelines for how the "for all" aspect can be included in demonstrators. The results can also contribute when reviewing Drive Swedens Impact Logic "Effektlogik", particularly within the thematic areas Societal Planning. The material can be further elaborated into for example applications for Horizon Europe and activities in CCAM Partnership concerning societal aspects, equity and user needs.

Planned approach and implementation

Study of known trials and implementations with self-driving buses supplemented with workshops. The purpose was to start the workshops with a demonstration of ELIN, self-driving buses in Vallastaden, Linköping. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, these workshops have had to be replaced by one shorter online workshop with a significanlty reduced number of participants.
