Important results from the project
The project group at the Gothenburg University (GU) has collected detailed data from roughly 50 patients with a suspected nocturnal breathing disorder. The University of Oslo (UIO) has collected data from healthy individuals and those with suspected atrial fibrillation. The Jena group has provided interpretation of signals. MMT in Zurich has integrated the system in a portable meter (eg wrist watch). The project is extended 6 months to finalize the project. The work for GU has been completed.
Expected long term effects
Please see also above. Long-term effects of the project include a product for clinical diagnosis and risk prediction in sleep disorders and cardiovascular disease. Steps in the program carried out so far follow the project plan.
Approach and implementation
The collaboration has, by and large, worked according to plan. The GU part in the project was reversed because the entire work ended up at the end of the grant period. We were able to identify this problem early in the study and could therefore plan the analysis work accordingly. The actual work of building the analysis algorithm (group in Jena) was delayed and this may have influenced the work in the latter part of the project. However, this did not affect our participation in the program.
