Under Innovationsveckan 2022 Vinnova arranged a seminar "Innovation in Nordic Public Sector” to highlight how foresight can contribute to developing the public sector.

Matti Kuivalainen from the Ministry of Finance in Finland talked about how together with OPSI/OECD they delve into anticipatory innovation in their work to create reforms for a sustainable future.

"Anticipatory innovation, not as an add-on but embedded, in the core processes of the government"

Joakim Skog gave examples of how Vinnova works with Futures thinking, foresight and speculative design both to develop the internal toolbox for innovation and in various projects project.

"The future doesn't just happen to us - we create the future with our own intent"

Sara Gry Striegler, Danish Design Center, described the work of driving social change for increased social sustainability by combining mission-oriented innovation, design thinking and story telling.

"It is not about finding the solution but claiming the opportunity space"
