Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project´s aim has been to create conditions for increased environmental benefit and circular solutions through increased reuse. The project´s objective has been to describe the conditions in the form of obstacles and opportunities in order to give both non-profit and commercial actors increased opportunities to gather household goods for reuse. The project has identified obstacles and opportunities and an action plan has been developed for increased reuse.

Expected results and effects

The project has produced an action plan. Increased reuse means reduced amounts of waste and reduced environmental impact. The value chains will change, which means improved business opportunities. The identification of the need for instruments at EU and national level can contribute to the development of instruments. If the experience gained from the project is utilized, it can mean a significant increase in reuse and an increased professionalism in the work on recycling. This can contribute to Sweden being a pioneering country in the transition to circular economy.

Planned approach and implementation

The project group included municipal waste strategist, the marketing manager of the municipal waste company, experts from IVL and a consultant. IVL has been responsible for analyzing the potential, obstacles and opportunities. The project group has drawn up the action plan. Local & national actors have been invited to the start meeting and final seminar. Interviews have been mainly with local actors. Contact has been with Avfall Sverige, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and Svensk Handel. The project has met interest from municipalities and have had dialogue Tiptapp.AB.
