Purpose and goal
The project will conduct a feasibility study to establish a technical platform for developing and offering a computer-based sign language service for the deaf. The study includes a market survey of existing solutions and stakeholders, and a draft technical solution for later implementation. Contacts will be made with non-profit and commercial actors for collaboration. Rapid AI development now enables interactive services for translation, education, and sign language assistance.
Expected effects and result
With the help of AI technology and a virtual sign language assistant, more people can become more independent and participate in society. For example, AI can translate lectures into sign language in real time and convert social information into both sign language and text. The effect is to increase independence and the possibility of equal communication for deaf and hard of hearing people.
Planned approach and implementation
Planned design and implementation includes mapping needs and existing solutions, dialogue with deaf users, organizations and private actors. Through interviews, workshops and strategic analysis, eligibility requirements and wishes are collected. Based on this, a technical concept is developed together with potential partners to ensure usability, scalability and acceptance among the target group and thus enable the start of production.
