Important results from the project

The overall mission of iris is to help companies become and remain greener by providing them an automatic service to track and measure CO2 emissions from personnel transportation. The goal for the project was to take the iris mobile application from a technical feasibility study to a functional application and develop the first version of the iris Index.

Expected long term effects

We have developed two apps during the project. One for data collection and training of the AI model and one native application for the end-user. In addition to the app development, we have researched and developed the initial version of the Iris Index. In parallel with the tech development, we have explored our customer segment further and have a go-to-market strategy in place for stage 2.

Approach and implementation

The scope of the project was based on a technical feasibility study. During the project, we had to explore new directions as the project progressed. For the AI we have moved from building it with Machine Learning to Deep Learning and for the app development, we have realised that we needed to build two separate native apps. We now have a native app that automatically starts tracking activities in the background, detects mode of transportation and calculates the CO2 emission from the activity which is shown in the in-app dashboard.
