Important results from the project
The project objectives are to ensure that the company´s innovation reaches and is established on the market; a) scaling up the process and produce generic prototypes assessed as fulfilled, showing the potential but also the need for continued development b) a significant increase in the number of personal contacts with potential customers has increased from 20 at the project start to about 80 c) establishment of customer relations by prototyping in collaboration is deemed to have met , prototypes developed in collaboration with 9 customers, 2 of which are in phase 2 of the work
Expected long term effects
The project outcome is judged as successful and has given the company a much stronger position vs project start-up. The complex step from coating in equipment intended for basic research to coating of real products has been implemented. The project has identified customer potential, led to employment and ongoing collaborations that are expected to lead to long-term contracts. The contact network established through the project has allowed investment in own production equipment and a significantly greater potential for faster development and delivery of customized prototypes.
Approach and implementation
The project has been implemented in accordance with plan, but required extension due to the dependence on access to coating equipment at Liu. By recent access to own equipment, this dependence vanished and thus strengthened the company potential in technological and prototype development. The customer portfolio has significantly expanded, but the pandemic at the end of the project has affected the possibilities for important physical meetings and indicated reduced investment propensity. Prototypes have been developed together with customers and enters phase 2 in some cases.
