Venture Circular economy
Call Circular flows - a call within circular biobased economy (pre-studies)

Important results from the project

The purpose of the pre-study has been to identify the potential for creating circular signs and services that Accus provides on the market. The purpose has also been to start a concrete move towards sustainable signs in all aspects. This was achieved by thinking innovatively and challenging today´s standards on production chains and business models. Emphasis has also been on internal dialogues with employees and stakeholders outside the companies. The project has developed prototypes that will be tested and evaluated directly in connection with the preliminary study.

Expected long term effects

Internal and external dialogues have led to insights regarding conditions for circularity. Collaboration with other organizations and companies is necessary to make crucial transfers towards circular economics. By early prototyping, the study has contributed to concrete insights in the area and made it possible for large shifts towards circularity. Recycling of signs is based on the interaction between a number of actors in the value chain, which also highlights the need for different actors to jointly develop design processes and business models.

Approach and implementation

The pre-study was carried out in a number of work packages, where the most central were focused on materials selection, design, reuse, recycling and business models. By working in work packages, we have been able to drive the project forward in several parallel processes and thus have had a high efficiency in the project. The pre-study has led to several new insights in the work package, which has led to significant movements towards a more circular thinking. The most obvious is the development of prototypes and testing of a new business model based on the principles of circular economy.
