Important results from the project

The project led to deepened relations and the spread of knowledge between the Canadian and Svenska AI-ekosystemet. Above all, collaborations were established between a number of Swedish hospitals and Unity Health Toronto, this led to two now funded follow-up projects.

Expected long term effects

Long-term effects mainly concern an accelerated use of AI in Swedish healthcare. But also long-term strategic relations between Sweden and Canada in the AI area.

Approach and implementation

The project began with a 2.5-month stay in Toronto, which enabled the establishment of relationships and the identification of new opportunities. The collaboration worked well, especially thanks to the physical presence in Toronto and then the visit of key actors from Canada to Sweden. The original plan was to make follow-up trips in 2024, this did not happen as we prioritized visits by Unity Health in Sweden and work with project applications.
