Purpose and goal
The purpose of the feasibility study was to investigate whether there are technical and organizational conditions to proceed with a full-scale project where the various technical systems used for fixed route public transport are linked with systems for flexible demand responsive public transport at the public transport authority Skånetrafiken so that the whole is perceived as a seamless system of systems.
Expected results and effects
The preliminary study showed that a full-scale project where flexible demand responsive public transport was integrated with fixed route public transport could be carried out from a technical point of view. A proposal for a possible technical solution was drawn up and costs calculated.
Planned approach and implementation
A workshop was conducted with persons representing key functions at Skånetrafiken. Several meetings were held where the current suppliers of involved systems met and agreed on relevant solution concepts. The suppliers showed a strong interest to participate in any subsequent project. An exploratory meeting was conducted with representatives from the taxi side concerning possible integration of commercial options. The results were summarized in a final report.
