Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to further develop an innovative concept for carbon offsetting that is in line with the goals and design of the Paris Agreement. The project has had three overall goals: 1.Prove a preliminary business concept. 2.Create conditions for establishing the necessary collaborations. 3.Create a basis for an investment case. We have been able to verify favorable conditions along the entire value chain and establish contacts with key potential partners and customers. We have further developed the business strategy, information and marketing materials, etc.

Expected long term effects

-Analysis of developing countries´ NDCs shows that the concept has comparative advantages. -Identified robust basis for quantification of climate and sustainability benefits. -Technol-economic analysis has resulted in a change of technology concept. Expanded knowledge regarding conditions for investment. -Market survey provides a good picture of the demand for the product. -Established relationships with potential buyers, technology suppliers and regional partners. - Development of growth strategy, pitch deck and mapped investors.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented by combining policy analysis, techno-economic analysis as well as market analysis and business development. A consultant has contributed to the development of information/marketing materials. In the policy analysis, the governing documents of the Paris Agreement, countries´ national climate pledges and relevant reports have been studied. The technical-economic analysis has used academic / technical literature and data from technology suppliers. The market analysis is based on a survey and review of market information.
