Important results from the project
Through this project a new version of the robot has been developed, with a construction that is better adjusted for high scale production and large distribution volumes as well as increased overall robustness. The software has been updated so that the robot charges, collects balls and empties the trailer autonomously. Thereby, the robot has now gone from a prototype to a product more appropriate for sales at a global scale.
Expected long term effects
The project resulted in a new version of the robot that has a more robust construction and is possible to produce at a larger scale compared to previous versions and its software can carry out essential functionality. As a consequence, the possibilities to perform longer test has improved significantly and also the ability for initiating additional customer installations.
Approach and implementation
The project started with a test phase where the prototype could be tested in a real-life scenario on a golf range. Based on these tests, problems were identified and a plan for how they could be resolved was set up. The problems related to mechanics could mainly be solved in collaboration with partners and consultants. With this division, project team has been able to focus on developing the robot´s internal logic and making its software more stable and suitable for a larger number of robot installations.
