Important results from the project

Railtic´s cause is to make it simple and safe to book rail travel in Europe. The goal of the project has been to enhance our booking service for European rail travel by making it more user friendly and by adding new functionality. Railtic should be the preferred solution for dreaming about and planning a journey, and to purchase all the tickets in one transaction.

Expected long term effects

We have analyzed views and demands from our customers. We have prioritized among those based on what gives best chances to boost our sales. We have added features to dream about and plan journeys by saving routes and sharing them with friends. We offer Interrail Passes and tickets to SJs train on the way from Sweden to Europe. Within shortly we will also offer booking of discounted set reservations for holders of Interrail Passes. The outcome of the project is difficult to assess as the Covid pandemic has limited travelling throughout the project period.

Approach and implementation

Due to the Covid pandemic that has paralyzed the travel market, analyses of user and sales patterns have not been possible. Instead, we have had dialogues with customers, industry representatives and potential investors. Based on that input, we have prioritized what we think gives the best customer benefit and sales volume. We think that we have succeeded in striking the delicate balance between adopting to an ever-changing world and keeping focus on making it simple and safe to book rail travel in Europe.
