Important results from the project
The aim and objective of the project was to install our biological treatment plant MycoCube in a natural environment at the customer´s premises and to verify its operation for five months. The assignment was to clean oil-contaminated groundwater. Both installation and operation were carried out without obstacles, delays or downtime. The results of the operation were above expectations with a degradation rate of 98.3% and a water quality close to drinking water. The conclusion is that the project was successful and soon ready to be marketed.
Expected long term effects
The expected results of the project were to purify 1.5-2.5 cubic meters of contaminated groundwater over five months with a purification rate of 40-80%. During the project period, 4 cubic meters of water were purified with a degradation rate of 98.3% and a water quality that is close to the guidelines for drinking water. Thus, the conclusion is that the results exceed the expectations and that the system can be scaled up in a natural environment.
Approach and implementation
The plan for the project was to install MycoCube during December 2022 and that operation would take place during January-June 2023. That schedule was maintained during implementation without any delays or downtime. Regular analyzes of degradation and water quality have taken place during the course of the project to ensure the system´s performance. During the five months the system has been in operation, no downtime has occurred, no repairs have had to be made or modifications to facilitate operation. The implementation has gone according to plan and exceeded expectations.
