Purpose and goal

Our goal was to develop the music technology Gestrument, from an iOS instrument to a platform independent interactive music engine. We have focused on IP issues and validated different methods to control the technology. Our goal has been to create a technology that invites everyone to be part of the world of music by allowing users to play directly on ”the DNA of music". We have built the foundation for this work and received a strong response from different key players on the market.

Expected results and effects

a point where we are ready to start commercial collaboration projects in both the video game and music industries. We have seen that our vision is not just credible to leading actors in several areas, they have even seen more possibilities than we first thought. The potential of this technology is huge, and could really revolutionise the use of music in many different areas.

Planned approach and implementation

Our plan with the three parts of our project (software development, IP/patent strategy and artistic validation of control methods) was well balanced. It proved so fruitful that we will continue with this approach in upcoming projects. We reached our results faster than we though, but also found the areas more extensive. Therefore, we are now investigating several ways to successfully finance the next step in our development, where we goo deeper in all the areas we have begun to work on.
